“Okay. Did you have fun?”
“Yeah, it was fun.”
“Fun or FUN?”
“Fun enough for a second date. Maybe I’ll have you meet him. Will you call me in five minutes?”
“Yes.”
Jen threw on a pair of sweats and a t-shirt, brushed her teeth, and combed her hair. Then she gingerly went out to her living room and sat on the couch next to her sleeping guest. “Good morning,” she said, lightly tapping him.
He rolled over and opened his eyes. “Hi,” he mumbled. “I must have fallen asleep.”
“You did, and it’s morning. Want some coffee?”
As Jen was pouring the coffee, the phone rang.
“Hi, Cooper,” she said. “Oh, I almost forgot. I’ll be ready in 45 minutes. Thanks for the reminder. Bye.”
“What’s up?”
“Cooper and I have a spinning class at eight. She’s picking me up here in about 45 minutes.”
“So I guess you can’t hang out today?”
“Maybe later. I have to write the mid-term exam for my freshman class. If I finish it early enough, I’ll give you a call.” She could have spent the day with Brian, but she wasn’t interested in doing that yet. She still wasn’t sure whether Brian had that all-day appeal.
