“How about both?”
“Twist my arm,” Jen said, sticking her right arm toward Adam.
“What should we do?”
“First, I’d like to go home and change. Then we’ll figure it out from there.”
Once they arrived at Jen’s apartment, she announced, “Make yourself at home; I’ll be right back,” as she headed toward the bedroom.
While he waited, Adam checked his voicemail. He had two messages. One was from Rob, telling him he and Cooper had finally had sex and that he had invented a new position. The other was from Doug Chapman, inviting the Swing Daddys to headline at The Poodle Club for the next two weekends. Adam replayed the message from Doug twice to make sure he wasn’t hearing things. He didn’t think his day could get any better, but it did. He had to share his news with Jen immediately. When he knocked on her bedroom door, he heard a whimsical, “Yesssss?”
“What are you doing?”
“Changing.”
“Can I come in?”
“Oh…okay, but cover your eyes; I’m shy.”
When he walked into her bedroom, she was in a far corner of her walk-in closet, wearing a bra and a new pair of shorts, sifting through scores of tops hanging across a rod that spanned the entire length of the closet. Adam reached under her arms, put his hands on her breasts, and began kissing her shoulders. “Guess what?”
“You’re trying to make me horny,” she answered matter-of-factly.
“Yes, but there’s more,” he said, as she turned around. “We just got invited to headline at The Poodle Club for the next two weekends!” he said, excitement dripping off every word.
