“So, I guess beer bongs are out,” Quint laughed. “How about next Saturday?”
“Great! We’ll talk soon,” Jen said, writing her number on a napkin.
Jen felt invigorated. It had been so long since a legitimately attractive, unpretentious, and normal guy showed real interest her. Where it would go, Jen didn’t really care. All she knew was that she found Quint irresistibly delicious — and for now, that was enough. Jen was thinking about sex. Jupiter must have been aligning with Mars.

When Adam arrived at his office, Tracie and Willem were waiting in the lobby. The left side of Tracie’s face was bruised.
“What are you doing here?” Adam asked, noticing the bruise. “I didn’t have you on my schedule today, did I?”
“No, you didn’t, but I was able to get away and come down here.”
“Come back to my office and we’ll talk.”
“Are you sure you can see me now?”
“Yes, Tracie…what happened to your face?”
“Tony hit me yesterday,” she whispered so Willem wouldn’t hear.
“When you didn’t show up for the appointment in December, I just assumed things had improved,” Adam said, feeling a bit guilty that he hadn’t called to follow up.
“Tony found your card and made it impossible for me to come here until now.”
Adam gently guided Tracie into his office. Willem ran ahead and hid behind Adam’s desk.
